Kindness, handed on — one bag of clothes at a time.
We collect clean, gently used clothing from Jericho, Syosset and nearby towns and bring it to shelters and to hospital patients who are leaving without a change of clothes. No parking-lot bins. No resale. We weigh and log every bag so we can show exactly where donations go.
Drop a bag at a drop-off point, or request a pickup for 3 bags or more. We take clothing, shoes and outerwear for all ages.
Student volunteers check every item, group it by size and season, and weigh each batch so the tally on this page stays honest.
Batches go to shelters and hospital discharge closets that have told us what they need. Nothing is sold.
The people we serve are leaving a shelter or a hospital, so they need everyday clothes that are ready to wear today.
Each location has a marked bin. Please tie bags closed and keep shoes separate from clothing.
We only deliver to organizations that distribute clothing free of charge to the people they serve.
Pickups run on Saturdays within about 10 miles of Jericho. We'll confirm a two-hour window by email within two days.

William Xu, Founder & President
Kindness Handed On was founded by William Xu, a student at Jericho High School, who serves as its Founder and President. It started after a family member passed away and left a closet full of clothing that had never been worn. Sorting it, we found how hard it is to get good clothes to the people who need them most. This project is our answer: make giving easy, and make sure every bag reaches someone who will wear it.
We are setting up fiscal sponsorship through Hack Club HCB so that money donations can be tax-deductible. Until then we accept clothing only. Every donation is logged by weight and destination, and we will publish our totals here once collection begins.
Students who would like to help sort donations, run a collection bin at their school or spread the word can email with your name and school.
